We are so lucky to live in the country with long watercolour painting traditions. I have a feeling that everyone here, in this rainy wet climate, somewhere deep inside must be a watercolourist. Here in Puffin Art Studio we are definitely are!
Last week we took our brushes, poured water in our buckets and painted spring. Isn’t it beautiful!?
What a fantastic session we had in Brampton park yesterday! The weather was just right, and kids really enjoyed themselves.
It’s so beautiful outside, we could not resist to paint spring landscapes with trees in blossom! We worked in a painterly manner with gouache medium, learning how to build texture with the brushstrokes.

It’s the second week we are busy refreshing our knowledge of colour theory, colour mixing, tints and shades.
Inspired by work of Ted Harrison, a remarkable English-Canadian artist, we tried to create an imagined landscape, juxtaposing warm and cool colours and creating depth by using different tints of hues. The results are pretty surreal…
